Deciding what to buy from the thousands of options available can difficult. What style, color, fit, and product to put in your windows are the most common questions we hear everyday. There is so much to choose from and new products are being constantly released.
We offer a In Home Design Consultation service*, where you partner with one of our stylists to achieve the “biggest bang for your buck”. Our classically trained design consultants are available to work with you on your latest design project. We offer complimentary in home appointments* to learn more about your unique style. However, If you have never been to our store, please drop in for a visit first. This is an important first step to see ALL the latest in product innovations. With so many choices it is the only way to see it all.
What does classically trained mean? In the new world of selling window treatments some brands only carry a select group of products and applications. The bay area has a wide variety of types & styles of unique windows. At Alcatraz Shade, we are trained to know which brand (from dozens of choices) that will be the best for your window or door.
During our meeting, we will bring the latest in design books and product samples, upon reviewing your windows and listening to your needs, we make recommendations based on which products match your project . After discussing your options and reviewing your choices, we will take professional measurements that are guaranteed to fit. Next, we will will develop a written contract for your project.
We require a 50% deposit to place your order. Most items can be installed within 2 – 3 weeks, although custom fabric treatments can take 6-8 weeks. Upholstered furniture takes 2-3 months.
* Note–Appointments cost $90 if no purchase is made. On purchases of $1,000 or more there is no charge for this service.
Please note a 24 hour cancellation policy is in effect. Any scheduled home visits that are cancelled with less that 24 hour notice via email will be charged $40 fee.
If any product comes in at the wrong size or has a manufacturer’s defect, we guarantee a full no-cost replacement, or re-sizing for up to one year after installation.
