 Hans Boerner-Owner & Shade Guru


 Jennifer Flack – Jennifer is a third generation family member managing the Alcatraz Shade Shop. She has literally grown up in this business, and has been their full time manager since 2004. Working with her mother, father, and grandmother over the years has taught her the importance of excellent customer service and the hard work it takes to run a successful business. Currently she is studying Interior Design at University California of Berkeley. She incorporates her passion for good design into each project. Her strengths lie in creating fashionable, custom designs for each homeowner and business owner. In her spare time, she goes for long walks with her husband, daughter, and dog, travels to great locations such as Big Sur, checks out the latest restaurants, and paints. She has a passion for great design, impeccable wines, and beautiful flower arrangements!


 Lindsay Schley – Lindsay Schley has a wide range of experience in the window fashion business. She was born into a family of window covering connoisseurs in Cuyahoga Falls Ohio. Her father went to work for her uncle Vernon who owns a custom drapery business in Akron. Her dad was then offered a sales position with Kirsch which moved the family from Ohio to North Carolina to Michigan. After the move to North Carolina her mother decided to get into the business as a drapery installer. When her father retired from Kirsch he went in to business with her mother, and they have been installing window coverings for over 20 years. When Lindsay moved to California in 2004 she was unsure of what direction to take with her life. She then discovered that a local bay area Budget Blinds was hiring for an office position and was hired immediately. She quickly went from entering orders to being their full time installer. She had plenty of hands on experience installing window coverings including cellular shades, wood blinds, draperies, and shutters. The year and a half she spent at Budget Blinds was good training for the position she now holds at the Alcatraz Shade Shop. She has been with Alcatraz Shade since 2007 and has gone from answering the phone to a cherished sales person. Whether she is in the store educating clients on window coverings, in the home measuring and consulting, or professionally installing window coverings, the owners at Alcatraz Shade know that their clients are in good hands.


 Dean Carrico – Dean was raised on a farm in Oregon and has a degree in Art History from University of Oregon. While living in Los Angeles, he attended  Otis School of Design and enjoyed Southern California . He has an extensive Account Management background from a variety of companies and brings years of experience in the window coverings industry including manufacturing, showrooms and installations. Dean has also been a docent for both the Los Angeles Conservancy and San Francisco Heritage. He has a passion for architecture, good design and color. His hobbies include travel, exercise, gardening and motorcycle riding. He is an animal lover and has a keen sense of humor.
